RNEI 15 Playlist, March 2021

(Spotify Stream numbers included)

  1. iris & SKAAR — voodoo voodoo 🇳🇴 (95K) - This one caught my attention immediately with its haunting vibe and I had to share it!

  2. Vilma Alina - Mä välitän 🇫🇮 (409K) - Something really cute from Finland, "I care" from the same artist who sang Rikollinen in show #2!

  3. Myra Granberg - HKF (Håll käften & försvinn) 🇸🇪 (7.635M) - "Shut up & Disappear" is quite a powerful song and I thought it'd shake up the mood a bit!

  4. Birnir feat. Páll Óskar - Spurningar 🇮🇸 (330K) - Birnir has teamed up with Páll Óskar, Iceland's 1997 Eurovision entry, to create this amazing head bopping tune!

  5. Marie Key - True Love 🇩🇰 (304K) - I heard this listening to Danish radio and I just thought how Marie sounds really nice on this, it's quite calming!

  6. Celeste - Tonight Tonight 🇬🇧 (1.599M) - Celeste has such a beautiful voice and I feel it goes so well with Marie Key's song, forgive me for skipping the traditional music block for these two gems.

  7. Nathan Evans - Wellerman - Sea Shanty / 220KID x Billen Ted Remix 🇬🇧 (23.547M) - I bought this for RNEI when it came out thinking it wouldn't get big but how wrong I was. A UK #2, Norwegian #9, Swedish #26 & Irish #10!

  8. Bright Sparks & John Gibbons - Real 🇮🇪 (41K) - Bright Sparks & John Gibbons usually have music that is big but this one went under the radar despite it being one of my favs!

  9. Frida Johansson & Henrik Oja - Problem Solving 🇸🇪 (57K) - This is a beautiful piece from a really cute video game called Unravel Two. After playing it with my brother I felt I couldn't not share this.

Thank you for listening to and decoding this edition of RNEI! We hope to see you next month.

Til vi møtes igjen,
Ha det!

Fun Facts:

Sunday March 14 is Pi Day (3.14 π) https://www.piday.org/

Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.
The digits in Pi go on forever, and never repeat. They contain every number you could ever think of.

Pi and Sinewaves are closely related. A Sine and a Cosine plotted in an X and Y axis draw a circle.

Sine and Cosine are also used extensively in DSP and Software Defined Radio - including the DSP code used in making this program.
Sine and Cosine are crucial in Fourier Transforms, Hilbert Transforms, and OFDM modulation - which brought you this very text! 😎
