The "Greeting on Board" was heard for the first time on Christmas 1953 on the radio. This makes the NDR Info broadcast one of the oldest radio broadcasts broadcast in the world. The Christmas greetings for 2017 were recorded at two events in the Advent season in the "Kulturspeicherin" Leer and in the Hamburg sailor mission "Duckdalben". Relatives and friends had the opportunity to wish their loved ones at sea a happy holiday and a happy new year.
